Privacy policy

MotorLens (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent AI tool that produces buying reports for used cars listed in the UK. You can reach us at legal@motorlens.co.uk.

Advert content you provide: the text, listing URL, or screenshots you paste or upload to generate a report.

Account information (optional): if you create a free account, your email address, an encrypted password (or an OAuth identifier), and a display name.

Report data: the buying reports MotorLens generates for you, so you can revisit them in your dashboard.

Technical data: basic request metadata such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, used for security and abuse prevention.

To generate your buying report using AI models. Advert content is sent to our AI provider(s) for the sole purpose of producing your report.

To save reports to your account when you're signed in, so you can view them later from your dashboard.

To operate, secure and improve the MotorLens service.

To communicate with you about your account or important service changes.

Performance of a contract — to deliver the report you asked for.

Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and reliable, and to improve it.

Consent — for any optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.

AI provider(s): to generate your report.

Cloud hosting and database providers: to run the site and store your reports.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with dealers or listing sites.

Anonymous reports are retained for up to 12 months so shared links continue to work.

Reports linked to a signed-in account are retained until you delete them or close your account.

Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where retention is required by law.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing legal@motorlens.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

MotorLens is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
